Back from the History trip! It was a lot of fun. I arrived in school at 1.40pm and waited for 5-10 minutes before we were ready to set off. We were leaving in a hurry due to time constraints. Well, let's just say a number of us didn't make it in time. Zaheer and Shakina were lucky enough to arrive at the very last minute! I heard that Wei-Qi was already present but she didn't make it to the bus as she was at the coffeeshop.
Anyway, we got to the HDB hub 30 minutes later. We settled down at the counter and sat down for some time while waiting for the lady to arrive and to decide whom to group with. I grouped with Pok Quen, Gideon, Ting Huang, Daniel and Terence. Of course, me included. We were brought to an "enclosed" room with really cool comfortable seats. We watched a 7-minute video that showcases how life was like before 1960 till now. After that, the groups were ready to set off for the gallery. We were the lucky ones as we are the first group - Group A. There was 5 groups - A, B, C and so on. The first three groups A, B and C were the first to set off for the gallery while the other two groups are left in the room to design their ideal home.
We got out of the room and walked down to the Gallery not far away from the room itself. The gallery is so interesting! There were really cool features in the gallery. Our first stop was at this gigantic book. The lady pressed the button and out appeared models of flats. This is just the starting. We walked around the whole gallery watching movies and experiencing the "artificial way" of how life was like in the past. There are these two status named Cheng and Ahmad if I remember correctly. Junwei was tickling Ahmad's throat. Haha! Then we came to the kitchen. It was small and there tonnes of things in the kitchen. The stove, the coal, the wood and whatever you can think off when you hear of the term "kitchen."
Nope, the fun didn't end here.
We got ourselves to two really cool technologies. The touch screen computer and the "teleport". The touch-screen computer was super huge. It was designed to be a palmtop or some sort of that. Cheng Da, Ting Huang and me were pressing on the screen at the same time! Idiots, I know. But whatever, okay? *grins* We walked a bit and came across the "teleport". Dude, the teleport is so much fun! We went in this teleport (it looks like a lift - silver in colour leaning to some really advanced technology). We got in the teleport, press the "close" button and off we were, "trapped" in the lift. We weren't trapped at all.. but we acted it out to be. It was so much fun! I felt as though I was starring in a horror/sci-fi movie and had this thinking that I might never get out of the lift! Our imaginations ran wild I tell ya! Hell! This whole gallery was so much fun that I could tell you every little detail! After walking the gallery for a good 30 minutes, we headed back to the room and it is now the other two groups to view the gallery and our turn to design our ideal house.
About an hour later, we had refreshment. We were given a pack of food and Apple Juice (Marigold). There was a bread with a hotdog in it, a cute mini doughnout of some sort with whipped cream in it, banana cupcake and a mini popiah. Once I had my fill, I had a crave for another packet but too bad there wasn't any left since the whole refreshment were gone after the second wave. Leaving me with nothing. BUT. Moses was nice enough to give me the banana cupcake. :) Heh.
Oh yes! We presented our information and two learning points. I especially liked Junwei's group idea in particular. In an odd way. A taoist-shaped house? Hah! And guess what? We won the presentation. We got ourselves a limited edition HDB HUB pen. I'm kind of upset it's just a pen but oh well, it's better than nothing. The class also got souveniers each. It's a thermos water bottle and is silver in colour.
We headed back to the bus and were ready to set off for school. I rather stay in the bus or the hub since I loathe the idea of going back home doing nothing (since I'm 60% done with my homework and I could easily do the other 40% on Saturday!). We got back in school and I walked to the bus stpo with Pok Quen. Initially, Pok Quen wanted to take 292 but seeing that it will only arrive minutes later, he rather take 8. Plus, it was already late. Around 4.30pm.
I'm back home and I find the kitchen in a terrible mess. Mom and Sis are making egg tarts but they aren't getting the trick to making egg tarts.
Anyway, yeah. that's about it. :D
