Sorry for the lack of updates. My computer is giving me problems again. =) And I'm getting really pissed at it. *points at window* Devil says, "The window is open.. the rest is just up to ya.. *winks*"
I'll be doing my Chemistry practical together with Khai and Farahdillah next week. Not sure which day though. I'm kind of nervous because I don't like doing practicals so much. I enjoy theory lessons a lot better. But aside from that, I'll be having two appointments with two different doctors. One is the doctor who performed the surgery on me and the other is a dermatologist (skin doctor - sort of) and it'll be on the same day - tiring but not a problem. Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting the dermatologist. *shivers*
Yesterday afternoon, I went to the Popular Bookstore to buy a few assesments book for myself. I bought 3 books costing me $28. And I've looked through the entire book and am very satisfied with the contents. One is a Geography-Q&A and the other two are History/SS Q&A. It's pretty good in my opinion. It offers you the questions and also the model answers so I can just turn to the back and look for the answer if I'm not sure of a question.
Anyway, when I had paid, I headed for the books section. Lots of new stocks and pretty good books. And I already have in mind what I'm gonna buy once I save up. I'm gonna miss out on my Food Extravaganza and save up for the book. The title is - "Sold for Silver by Janet Lim". It's a very GOOD story in my opinion. The entire plot is based on real life accounts of Janet Lim. When she was 8, she was sold for silver and worked her guts out as a slave. She managed to escape from her "so-called master" later and fled to Singapore during the few years before WWII started and later was tortured by the Japanese soldiers over and over again! It's a wonderful, blatantly honest, grammar wise - awesome, language wise - moderate, understanding - great book. I suggest anybody who LOVES to read books *coughs* meme *coughs* to buy this book.
I didn't manage to look through the other books because I didn't had much time. Besides, majority of the books are focussed on little children. There were a number of teenage/mature books but all of them were based on:
HORROR, LOVE *pukes*
Being a writer is fantastic. It has always been a dream for me to write my own book if fate allows so. And being a Doctor is out of the question since I panicked at the sight of blood and knives though my parents really urges me to be one. Being a politician/civil servant isn't that bad but my parents don't quite like the idea. So that's out. Physicists - YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME. So the best ambition is to be a writer. =) I'm gonna work hard for my goals now. YOU PEOPLE GOTTA GIVE ME SUPPORT, YA?! You'll each get a book for free! *laughs*
BUT. Wrapping things up,
does anyone wanna give me $28 for the book? ILL DO ANYTHING BESIDES BEING A SLAVE.
