CNA is a good channel to watch in the afternoon and evening. There are a lot of documentaries which serves a great deal of educational values. Earlier this afternoon, I was pressing random buttons on the remote when I saw a debate going on. It was a Chinese debate though but there were subtitles. The motion was about Equality between Men and Women if I'm not wrong. Or something along that line. I didn't catch the first part of the debate because I was watching Kids Central.

I'm very impressed with the opposition team. There were two angmohs who could actually speak GOOD chinese. Although I don't read or write Chinese, I can tell their fluency from the way they speak. There were hardly any stutters in the speeches 'cept a few occasional ones but they weren't very fast in delivering their speeches like the proposition did. There were a few humours here and there. Them being:

"If I had 8 children, would that mean they have to take after my surname?"
"I'm handsome. I admit that."

There were a lot more but I can't remember much of the humour. Stupid STM. *laughs* In the end, the proposition team won and the best speaker award was given to a member of the opposition team.

Then there's Child of our time on Arts Central right? I saw the ad on TV just now. I didn't catch the first few episodes because I was so busy watching Chinese Dramas. Silly. I'm going to make it a point to watch the next episode even if means that I have to sacrifice my Chinese dramas. *sobs*

Then.. sometimes.. we often happen to see crappy shows. One of them, in my opinion, would be Shooting Stars which is so stupid and giving a bad impression on teenagers. I mean really. I don't get the point of the show. Is it to show us [viewers] that we should keep our goals alive? Or get into a relationship like Sly did at the expense of getting beaten up? Singapore Idol is so cliche. I don't understand why the fangirls {boys?} screams like there's no tomorrow when they watch the show.

The second crappy show I find is Heartlanders. Yeah.. we all know how hot the hunks are and how sexy the chics are. But what's the point of the show? It's giving a rather bad impression of teenagers too though in a way, it kinda tells us teenagers to get the fuck out of gangs [which I strongly believe in] but other than that, gang fight.. shots here and there.. bang BANG bang. *yawns*

Another crappy show is CSI. Though it's very mysterious, very wonderful show I must say, what the hell is so nice about it? It's so rated PG. There are violent scenes which are so not suitable for the growing minds. Like us teenagers and small children. Next thing you know - one of us could be pinpointing a gun at anybody. Now Ms. Picca said a very good point about this show: HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPEN ON A DAY THAT HAPPENED AGES AGO? If you ask me, I don't remember what happened last week if I don't look back in my blog or journal.

I talk too much. I better shut up before one of the directors of either three crappy show comes looking for me.
